What a sad, yet joyous day! Tensions and sorrow ran high, but Fern's children all gathered together to celebrate the life of their Mother, Fern Dansie Bateman. Born April 5, 2014, she was almost 98 years old when she died! She loved going to church on Sunday, and went every week almost up to the day she left us.

Stan felt like he did not have a close relationship with either of his parents, but he loved and respected this woman with all his heart. It touched him forever when we went to see her for the last time. It took Fern a few minutes to realize who he was. She was so happy to see him! The rest of the night, she kept asking, "Where's my son?"

I was able to play the piano during the viewing. Fern loved to hear all her kids play the piano, and most of them can. Of course, Jennika had to sit with me the whole time. What an angel?

My cute little family are such good support.

Tyler was one of the pall bearers. So handsome!

We will miss Fern, her funny sense of humor, her marvelous cooking skills, and her love.
